The American College Theatre Festival in Association with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has nominated Jimm Cox for a directing award for the recent production of “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.” Barry Whitfield’s set design has been nominated for the production design award. Cox (right) is a professor of theatre, director of the Shoestring Players and chair of the Department of Fine Arts and Communication Studies. Whitfield (left) is the theatre manager.
