Rowe Receives 2011 Ellis-Bochner Autoethnography and Personal Narrative Research Award

Dr. Desiree D. Rowe has been awarded the 2011 Ellis-Bochner Autoethnography and Personal Narrative Research Award through the National Communication Association. This national award is judged on the following criteria: (1) originality; (2) creativity and quality of narration; (3) evocative writing; (4) engagement with human emotionality and subjectivity; and (5) significance of contribution to the field and/or to social justice. The award was presented in November at the annual meeting in New Orleans. Dr. Rowe is an assistant professor of speech in the Department of Fine Arts and Communication Studies.
